STRATEGY CCUS scientists in CCS feature on Spanish radio

STRATEGY CCUS scientists from the Geological Survey of Spain (IGME) featured in a special 30-minute programme on Spain's national radio station focusing on carbon dioxide (CO2) storage and its role in tackling climate change.

Roberto Martínez Orío and Paula Canteli, both of IGME, were interviewed by Marta Fajardo of Radio Nacional de España (RNE) on 29 September 2020 as part of the broadcast, CO2 storage for saving the planet.

The feature, which was aired as part of the regular programme, A golpe de bit, described the STRATEGY CCUS project’s work to identify the most conducive areas in Spain for capturing and storing CO2 from cement, petrochemicals and steel production.

The use of smaller amounts of captured CO2 in the food industry or to produce e-fuels or new materials was also mentioned during the half-hour profile.
