A workshop being held in Paris later this month aims to give stakeholders the opportunity to contribute and discuss their views, ideas and concerns about the energy transition and CO2 emissions reduction as well as opportunities for carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) in different regions of France.

The event will be held in person and will feature interactive sessions with representatives from industry, local and regional authorities, public authorities, environmental NGOs and others to ensure balanced discussions.

The one-day workshop takes place on 31 March and anyone interested in taking part should register before 18 March. Register here.

French research teams involved in the STRATEGY CCUS project have spent three years studying two regions in France - the Rhone Valley and the Paris Basin. Their results include the development of scenarios, which integrate factors such as CO2 emissions, characterisation of infrastructure, socio-economic impact and public perceptions of CCUS.

The project’s overall objective is to study the development of CO2 capture, geological storage and recovery technologies in eight regions of southern and eastern Europe in order to control emissions from industrial and energy production sectors.
